ONEFAUXSEVEN FASHION FILLING WORDS

If you follow me on Snapchat (yasmeendabu), maybe you’ve seen my Snapchat Story this weekend. I snapped some random people adding the caption ‘color of the day’.  Basically I was taking pictures of people wearing one color from head to toe. What actually started as a gag ended up inspiring me to wear this outfit. I ended up wearing a blue dress as a top, defining it as smurf outfit.

These hot temperatures challenge me every day when it comes to picking my outfit. Today I was looking for something breezy and saw this blue dress that would have been the perfect piece for today’s weather. There’s this thing about dresses: I love to wear them. I feel like I don’t have to think a lot about how to combine them. But I also easily get sick of wearing a dress for the third time, because it always looks the same. During summertime at least. I can’t layer to change the look and I feel like this would be the only way to make a dress look really different. So I decided to change my outfit because I wasn’t feeling myself wearing this dress again. While I was changing and putting on my pants looking for another top, I suddenly enjoyed what I saw in the mirror. The combination of these different shades of blue somehow got my attention and also remembered me of all the people I snapped. The loose cut of both items were still perfect to not swear my ass off. I tucked-in my dress and wore it as a top. Voilá. I was ready to snap myself for my ‘color of the day’ series.

For me, this was another proof that we all get inspired by what we see in our everyday life. We might see some things as a joke, we might feel like some things are just annoying or challenging in a competitive way. But in the end we all get inspired by everything and everyone that surrounds us. And on that note I want to wish you all good start into a new and hopefully inspiring week.
