SHOWTIME
Finally it’s showtime. I felt like I was on stage already for my big performance for the past years. Now I realize that the past years have only been years of practice. Years of challenges. Years of preparation to start delivering the best performance. I’m 25 years old and I feel like my show is about to begin, even if there are people out there, that have been performing at a much younger age already. Younger people that are already taking the challenges of another league. I’m 25. It’s about time to. And still. I’m not quite sure if I’m ready yet. But what I know: I will never be 100% sure.

I guess it’s true what people say. Do not compare yourself to others. We all have our own fate. We all have our own time to shine. Not every competition has to be a competitive one. What do I mean by that? It’s showtime and I’m ready to shine. I used to compare myself to others. Others that were more successful even if they started out later than I did. Now I realize that it just wasn’t the right time for me. It also wasn’t the right move for me. We all have to listen to ourselves. Our needs. And our own timings.
THE SHOW IS ABOUT TO START.
But this doesn’t necessarily mean, that I have to outshine others or vice versa. We all have our moment when we enter the stage. We will all have the chance to be in the spotlight for at least once. We all have our fans base. Even if they are sitting in separated sections, still: They are sitting next to other people that have similar interests. That means that we – all of us together – represent the people that can deliver the best performances of our lives. These performances that will put together one big show. And we do this by all performing our part of the show. Different parts. Different moves. For the same audience. I feel like people forget to appreciate other good performers nowadays. Other people that work as much as we do. What gives us the right to think, that others who probably did the same things that we did for our dreams, people that maybe even sacrificed more than we did, would deserve less applause and appreciation than we do?
THIS IS IT
It’s showtime. Now or never. Focus. That’s all you need to do. You can have the best rehearsals. You can even be the best during rehearsals. But it’s the moment that you enter the stage, the moment that all the lights go on, the moment all eyes are on you.. this is the one that counts. One wrong step. One wrong note. And your whole performance could end. Now it’s up to you. Are you ready for your top-class performance?
I’M READY
Even if you ask for an encore. I’ve practiced a lot. I was preparing myself to be where I am now. I had my downs. I am 25 years old and ready to live the dream that I worked for. Never in my entire life did I feel so comfortable with what I’m doing. I can check one of my list now. It was hard work for sure. I never realized and I would have never imagined, that following my dream can be so tiring. So exhausting. I feel like people – especially influencers – should stop telling people at a younger age, that everything is easy because it’s not. We should all stop pretending that we get our dream jobs right after we graduate. The truth is: Time changed. Time will change. And it’s getting harder and more complicated. You will be the one that has to apply for a job. No one will ever bump into you on the street asking for your help because you look qualified for a company, like you’ve seen it in some movies. You’ll have to be patient. You will be rejected. You have to take internships. And they will not be well-paid. You will think that you aimed for too much. But that’s the best part. When you worked hard enough, there will be that one moment, where you have the time to shine. This will be the moment where everything you worked for will finally pay off. And then: It’s showtime.
